Clearing Spaces

There are plenty of spaces one should clear of lingering energy. Some of the best places to start are those that elicit a feeling of negativity or discomfort. Places that are shared between people can be breeding grounds for negative energy, especially when there is conflict and tension, and that energy can stagnate and make an area more stressful overall. These would be places like a living room, kitchen, bedroom, or anywhere else that is shared in the home. Next are portals to the outside world, such as windows and doors. It is believed that these openings are entrances that allow negative energy into the space. Another common place one should consider is their car because it’s somewhere we go a lot and can be the setting of a lot of stressful situations, but we don’t often consider it. Keeping the car clean, orderly, and free of stagnant energy can have a tremendous effect on not just everyday driving, but stressful driving situations as well. Similarly, one’s workspace can also be a big stress area. Maintaining a positive flow of energy in your workspace or office can keep that negative energy from sticking around and fostering more negativity. Clearing any or all of these spaces is a great way to improve personal health and wellbeing, as well as that of anyone who visits these places often.

There are many ways that negative and stagnant energy can be cleared from a space. The first thought that probably comes to mind for a lot of people would be burning dried sage, also called smudging. The smoke produced from smudging is known to carry away negative energy, so it is especially beneficial to smudge an area when it is new to you. By burning sage and wafting the smoke around the area, it can make the space good as new! Just consider ventilation and shared spaces when doing this. Another thought that quickly comes to mind is using crystals. The benefit of crystals is that, so long as they’re frequently charged by moonlight, they do their job passively. Clear quartz, amethyst, and black tourmaline are some of the most popular options as they work great for clearing negative energy and promoting positivity. Placing these crystals in crucial places in the home, office, or car can make a huge difference in the flow of energy. Some good spots include the corners and windows of a room to create a protective barrier, as well as the center of a room and near seating areas. Another great way to promote positive energy and reduce mental stagnation is to clear areas of clutter and disorder. Having messy and disorganized spaces can block the flow of energy and promote a stressful environment. Conversely, cleaning up and clearing areas of clutter can clear the mind and promote energy flow. It is also a good idea to consider putting plants in areas in the home and/or office, as certain plants can promote positive energy, ease the mind, and purify the air. Try peace lilies, lavender, rubber plants, and jade plants for this effect. One final way to maintain positive energy is to resolve personal conflicts and tension, since shared areas can harbor a lot of negative energy. The residual energy from these interactions can linger and cause a stagnant atmosphere which can breed more negativity. Doing any of these things can have a tremendous effect on the spaces and energies around you. Doing all of them can increase that effect exponentially.
As you can see, there are many things to consider when clearing and maintaining the energy of a space. There are about as many places to clear as ways to get it done. If you combine these methods, you can change the vibrational energy of a space for the better. By clearing many spaces in your life, the cumulative positive effect can have an incredible effect on your life. Not only will your personal energy benefit greatly, but also that of those around you. You may see a noticeable increase in health, wellness, and mental clarity.
